To start the discussion on safety in a playful and open setting the following materials are presented. Two games; a Serious Game and a game called 'Cards for Biosafety' introduce students to the world of Biosafety. The third item presents material to organize a workshop for researchers interested in new applications and technologies of biotechnology.
Serious Game
Challenge students with the Safe-by-Design Serious Game to broaden their safety awareness with safety considerations of a technical, societal, social, ethical and legal nature. The students will discuss this with each other in search of creative ways to tackle the challenges.
Cards for biosafety
Together with TU Delft, the Rathenau Instituut has developed a game for biotechnologists and students. The game Cards for Biosafety teaches future professionals how to deal with safety issues in a better way.
Format for workshop
Together with TU Delft, the Rathenau Instituut has developed a workshop format for researchers working with new biotechnologies. The workshop gives researchers insight into possible risks, and how to reduce or circumvent these.
